چکیده

After the 2005-2009 chikungunya epidemic, intermittent outbreaks were reported in many parts of India. The caused by either locally circulating strains or imported viruses. Virus transmission routes can be traced complete genome sequencing studies. We investigated two 2014 and 2019 Kerala, Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) was isolated from samples, whole genomes sequenced for a isolate isolate. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that isolates formed separate group with Pune, Maharashtra, belonged to East/Central/South African (ECSA) genotype, Indian subcontinent sublineage Ocean Lineage (IOL). A novel mutation at amino acid position 76 E2 gene observed group. phylogenetic results suggest might have been had India since 2014. detailed study is needed investigate evolution CHIKV
